The United States President: Donald Trump has threatened threatened the Palestinian leadership that the United States will stop funding the Palestinian Authority unless the Palestinian Authority resumes peace talks. In which, Nikki Haley, United States Ambassador to the UN claimed that the United States would terminate funds to United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in Near East or the UNRWA if the Palestinian Authority recommences negotiating.
In accordance to this, the State Department told UNRWA officials that no halt had been placed on the funds, however, according to a United Nations official: the U.S. Administration is managing a review of funding to the Palestinians, along with the statement that indicated the U.S. funding to UNRWA was on hold.

UNRWA or the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, is a relief and human development agency founded by the United Nations in December 1949 which supports more than 5 million registered Palestinian refugees, who fled or were expelled during the 1948 Palestine war and the 1967 Six Day war.
In accordance to this, the American news and information website: Axios recently reported that the administration had frozen the funding to the UNRWA, in which according to Axios was expected to be transferred on January 1, 2018. However, a State Department official confirmed and explained that there is no formal deadline for transferring the funds, and that the department did not miss a deadline and decisions were still in progress.
In addition, Chris Gunness, a spokesman for UNRWA mentioned in a statement that there hasn’t been a decision being made on the funding, this is with regards on the substantial conversations with speakers in the United States Administration.
